So recently, Kareena Kapoor Khan has posted on her Instagram handle a cute pouty face selfie. She was seen pampering herself with an easy to make but really effective face mask. When we dig into her caption, we found that the mask was a suggestion of her dear friend Nisha Sareen. So we jumped on to her page to break down the ingredients of this beneficial DIY face mask. Nisha Sareen herself posted Kareena’s picture and captioned the details about the mask. The ingredients were really simple and have been used by most of our mothers for a long time.

This is a very simple mask but has all the ingredients that help you rejuvenate your skin and get the glow. Basically, there are 4 things you will need to prepare this mask:

1. Sandalwood
2. Vitamin E oil/tablets
3. Turmeric Powder
4. Milk
If milk doesn’t suit your face or you feel that your face gets greasy after using milk, you can use rose water or aloe vera as the best substitutes for milk. Let us see how to prepare the mask.

It is really easy to go with. Take 2 tbs of Sandalwood, 2 drops of Vitamin E oil( if you have a capsule then break one down into this), 1 tsp of turmeric powder and milk to bind this all together. Make the paste so that it will be easy to apply on your face. Don’t make it too thin. You can use rose water or aloe vera as mentioned earlier if applying milk doesn’t suits your.. Keep it for a while and wash your face with luke warm water after 20-25 min. You can repeat this mask 1-2 times a week.

Here are some of the beneficial properties of the above mentioned ingredients that help your face glow brighter and get lighter.

It is highly recommended for the treatment of acne and pimples. Due to it’s powerful anti septic and anti bacterial properties, it is used on acne prone skin. As we know that sandalwood has a grainy coarse texture, it helps in exfoliating the skin really well. When you apply sandalwood to your face, it cools the skin and absorbs all the oil, thus being a natural remedy for oily skin. Sandalwood is effective in treating sunburns and helps moisturize the skin.

It is mostly used for sun damage due to it’s anti inflammatory properties. Vitamin E when soaked completely by the skin, improves the skin texture and makes the skin glow. The anti oxidants and nutrients rejuvenates your face. Moreover, it leaves your skin brighter, lighter and softer.

3. Turmeric
Who is not aware of the healing and skin caring properties of turmeric!? It has the anti oxidants and anti inflammatory components that helps you fight acne. It lightens the face by fading the acne scarring. Turmeric is really helpful for dry skin as it helps you restore your natural glow and treats uneven skin tone. One more interesting property turmeric has is that it removes the facial hair and slows down their growth.

Milk contains lactic acid which helps to clear up the dead skin cells. It is an organic skin toner and skin cleanser. Milk helps in moisturizing the skin and add radiance to it.

For all those who need a better alternative to milk, Aloe Vera work wonders on your skin. It is effective in reducing infections and reduces acne. Aloe Vera is the modest house plant that have many benefits. Not just the skin but it is good for your hair and scalp too. Aloe Vera moisturizes the dry skin and it is useful to avoid sunburns.
