by Expertish

Whether you are a morning person waking up with the sun or you wake up after hitting that snooze button 4 times, the first few hours in the morning are crucial to decide the pace of entire day. You should kick-start your day feeling completely energized and refreshed. When you use your mornings wisely, it is less likely to feel grumpy and tired.
The key to a perfect morning routine is to experiment with what works the best for you. Here is a list, if you commit, can make you feel fresh and more awake in the morning.

1. Drink warm water with lemon: to kick-start your metabolism
This is a morning drink that helps to detox your body and improve metabolism. Squeeze half a lemon in a glass of warm water to wake your body up. Vitamin C in lemon is an all rounder. It keeps your skin clear, helps in digestion and even boosts your immune system. Your body is hydrated well and is ready to absorb all other nutrients effectively. Warm water with lemon helps to keep the joint and muscle pain away. So, drinking the lemon water(empty stomach) first thing in the morning can be a better start.

2. Take a cold shower: to feel alert and strengthen your immune system
It is medically proven that taking cold water shower is quite beneficial for you if you want an effective and dynamic morning. This helps to perk up your nervous system making you more alert and awake. Also, when the cold water hits your body, it improves the blood circulation and increase the oxygen level in body. Now there are times when you might not feel to hop into the cold shower so you can switch to warm water and then have a cold shower for last 10-30 seconds. This can also keep you refreshed.

3. Use a dry skin brush before showering: to increase blood circulation
You may think of dry brushing as an extra step and you would try to avoid it. But it is really helpful to pump you up in the morning. Do not just consider this as an exfoliation because it does more than that. The dry brushing on skin stimulates your nerves and increases the blood circulation. This way, you are more awake and feel energized. This also helps in lymphatic drainage which is good for detoxification. Brush off your tiredness with this natural morning boost to feel more energetic and rejuvenated.

4. Practice Yoga: to gently wakeup your body
Now that you are awake, roll your yoga mat and stretch for a while. Instead of snoozing the alarm you can do some yoga to remove the tiredness from your body and put yourself in a better mood. Exercise makes you feel more awake. It is a best alternative to caffeine and makes you more productive for the day. Practicing yoga early in the morning will warm up your digestive system and help nutrients move more easily through the body. Give this a try and make it a part of your routine, you will feel more awake and alive.

5. Tidy Up: to declutter your space and clear your mind
When you wake up in the morning, the easiest thing to do is make your bed. Tidying up is supposed to help you feel energized and renewed. If you could take out some time from your morning routine for rearranging your room, like dusting the lamps or clearing the dresser top of all the clutter, you will feel more organized and fresh. Although, when you are in a rush, try to stay calm and do not allow stress or anxiety to kick in. Keeping your mind clear will help you stay more focused. Try to pull off a 5 minutes of meditation or just sit quietly to stay peaceful and composed all day.
